The XLRI institute or the Xavier Labour Relations Institute of management studies, which is situated at Jamshedpur is pretty well known and is considered to be one of the best institutes for management in India. Students interested in securing admission in this prestigious institute are needed to give the XAT exam. The XAT or the XLRI Aptitude test is generally conducted some time in the month of January. It is conducted on a yearly basis. In the year 2008 it was conducted on a Sunday in the first week of January i.e on 6th, January 2008. it test is known to be as difficult and unpredictable as CAT. Just as CAT it keeps throwing challenges at you. The pattern of the test is also quite similar to that of CAT. His test generally comprises of sections which test your power of reasoning in Quantitative ability, Logical Reasoning, Decision Making and verbal ability and reading comprehensions.
The test is generally for the duration of two and a half hours. There is also an additional essay writing section associated with the test. After the test, the short listed students are required to participate in Group discussions and personal interviews.
Several other institutes such as are SP Jain institute of Management, Mumbai and Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubhaneshwar are also affiliated with XAT.
